PUNTACANA, REP. DOM.- The Grand Palladium Punta Cana Resort & Spa reopens its doors today, making its entire platform of enjoyment, comfort and sensations available to national and international tourists, now, designed to protect guests from Covid-19, and under the responsibility of a new general manager, Antonio Parrado.
- According to former travelers, the all-inclusive Grand Palladium Punta Cana Resort & Spa is a great locale for enjoying a family vacation in Punta Cana. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure.
- The hotel Grand Palladium Punta Cana Resort & Spa is situated in the vicinity of a sandy beach. At the beach, there are sun umbrellas and sun loungers free of charge available. For mobility there is a car rental company. The airport (PUJ) is approx. The hotel and airport are linked by a shuttle (for a fee).
This hospitality professional, who knows the standards of this prestigious chain like the back of his hand, spoke exclusively with MercadoSocial about the reopening of this tourist center, the feelings that invade him after having been for more than 14 years in properties of the company in Mexico, and the challenges ahead.
Parrado enthusiastically welcomes this new challenge.
TRAJECTORY.- In his last two years of university studies, Parrado had the opportunity to carry out an internship in Management within the Palladium chain, however, I decided to take a one-year hiatus to go and consolidate his English in England. Upon returning to Spain, they offer him the opportunity to go for six months to the Riviera Maya, in Mexico, for a managerial training program.
The six months were transformed into 14 years of experience at the Grand Palladium Riviera Maya and TRS Yucatán, where he served as director of Food and Beverages, then as director of three of the five hotels in the complex, and finally, as general director of the same for the last 5 years.
“All this time in the Riviera Maya helped me to put a lot of knowledge into practice, but above all it helped me to learn and to feel very grateful for everything I was able to experience. I take many friends, experiences and even two Mexican daughters with me, ”he said.
UNEXPECTED.- Parrado narrated that with the entry of the pandemic in Spain, there were moments of great uncertainty.
“Our company started to take action in Europe and we started to get used to what was coming, but we never expected it to be so fast. Overnight flights stop arriving and you only have customer departures “, recalled the executive, also highlighting that they were very complicated days to handle the departure of the personnel they had working in the best possible way.
“Very good agreements were reached to be able to help our collaborators during this time. Once the human part has been fixed, safeguarding the assets takes priority. We established a crisis staff and a minimum staff to maintain the facilities, ”explained the executive when speaking in general about the hotel chain, which has properties in Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean.
You may think that with a closed hotel there is no work to do, but the truth is, says the executive: “That is another type of stress and daily routine that you finally get used to, but it was not easy at first. Many online meetings, elaboration of future scenarios, debates on possible opening dates, webinars, etc. ”, he said.
The work was not finished even when the hotel was closed.
CARIBBEAN.- Parrado has the opportunity to come to the Dominican Republic and affirms that immediately mixed feelings came after having lived so long in Mexico, but even so he feels very excited about the new challenge, as he really wants to contribute, especially , at a time as complicated as this.
“I have been able to perceive the desire in general of all the destiny to start again with force. I have a team with an attitude to do things well and sincerely, I believe that all this will make us see things from a very different perspective, although the process will be slow, “said Parrado, after having the opportunity to soak up the efforts of the tourism sector to reactivate the market.

“We have an internal standards manual perfectly adapted to the country’s regulations and we also have the support and advice of SGS Consulting, which helps us to certify each and every one of the processes we carry out in the hotel,” Parrado said , adding immediately that its tourist offer will continue to have the same essence, and its mission is very clear, “to convert customers into fans.”
“I have been able to perceive the desire in general of all the destiny to start again with force”, says Parrado.
The executive stressed that, if Palladium has been characterized as a company in something, it has always been to want to be one step ahead and make the guest feel at home, want to return and establish a link that can be identified as “going back to their own house”.
In this new beginning, Palladium Punta Cana will continue to have first-rate facilities, a high-level gastronomic service and personalized attention for its guests.
Regarding this, and with pride, Parrado highlights that they have a Baby Club and a Mini Club, for the little ones, in addition, their famous Raggs, the mascot.
